Nashville, Tennessee – Early fog will slow drivers across Nashville this morning, but the bigger story is the warming trend ahead. Sunshine will take over by afternoon, sending highs into the upper 80s today, then into the 90s by midweek.

According to the National Weather Service, patchy fog could limit visibility for morning commuters along I-40, I-24, and I-65. Motorists are urged to allow extra travel time and use headlights through sunrise. By midday, skies will clear, with highs near 80.

Monday marks the beginning of a strong warmup, with highs around 82 under mostly sunny skies. By Tuesday, Nashville will push toward 87, and Wednesday through Friday will bring highs near 91–92. Overnight lows will stay mild in the upper 50s and lower 60s.

This stretch of dry weather comes as NOAA’s extended precipitation outlook highlights below-normal rainfall for much of Tennessee through mid-September. The combination of rising heat and lack of rain could increase drought and fire concerns later this fall.

For now, Nashville residents should prepare for warm afternoons and take precautions against foggy starts to the day.
