Nashville, TN – If you’re hoping for snow this Christmas in Middle Tennessee, you’ll need to adjust your expectations. Forecasters are calling for a wet holiday season, with rain expected and unseasonably warm temperatures keeping snow out of the forecast.
According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, dry conditions will persist through the weekend, with high temperatures hovering around the mid-40s to low-50s. Cold mornings, however, are expected, with lows dipping into the 20s and 30s. Rain chances begin increasing early next week, peaking at 60% on Tuesday and Wednesday. Christmas Day is likely to bring showers, with temperatures climbing to a high of 58 degrees.
Residents are advised to prepare for wet roads and potential delays during holiday travel. Plan accordingly for outdoor events this weekend, as Saturday and Sunday will feature sunny skies with daytime highs of 42 and 44 degrees respectively. Monday remains partly sunny before showers arrive late in the evening.
Motorists traveling along I-65 or I-40 next week should monitor weather updates, as slick roads and reduced visibility may occur. While no severe weather is forecasted, gusty winds during showers on Tuesday could briefly impact driving conditions.
