Nashville, TN – Residents can expect another round of showers and thunderstorms to develop Wednesday, bringing the potential for localized downpours and gusty winds during the afternoon. The main threats will arrive after 2 p.m., just in time to complicate the evening commute.

According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, the chance of precipitation is 40 percent. Showers and thunderstorms are expected mainly between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday. The day will be mostly cloudy and hot, with a high near 91 degrees. Heat index values could climb as high as 99, creating oppressive humidity. South-southwest winds of 10 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph, will offer little relief.

Conditions will begin to shift Wednesday night as another wave of scattered showers and thunderstorms moves through the area, primarily after 1 a.m. The low will settle around 73 degrees.

Looking ahead to the Juneteenth holiday, scattered thunderstorms remain likely, especially before 1 p.m., with a high near 87. The pattern begins to break down by Thursday night, leading to a much calmer and more pleasant end to the week.

Friday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 91, and Saturday will be partly sunny with a high reaching 94 degrees. The weekend forecast offers a brief respite from the stormy weather, though a 20 percent chance of showers returns Sunday and Monday, with highs hovering in the mid-90s. No widespread, severe weather is anticipated through early next week.
