Memphis, Tennessee – Residents across western Tennessee should brace for isolated severe storms between 11 p.m. Saturday and 4 a.m. Sunday as a fast-moving weather system sweeps through the Mid-South.

According to the National Weather Service in Memphis, a Marginal Risk (Level 1) is in effect for the region tonight, with storms moving west to east and bringing the potential for 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail. The risk extends from Jonesboro and Memphis to Jackson and Union City, with storm activity expected to be brief but potentially damaging.

Cities including Dyersburg, Paragould, and Batesville may experience short bursts of high wind, while areas farther east like Nashville remain at lower risk. While tornadoes are not anticipated, the timing of the storms overnight could catch some residents off guard. Limited flooding concerns are also noted, though not widespread.

Travelers should avoid late-night driving if possible and secure outdoor items to prevent wind damage. Ensure mobile alerts are enabled and devices are charged in case of power outages.

Storm activity is expected to taper off by early morning Sunday. However, a stronger system could bring more severe weather Tuesday, with an Enhanced Risk already posted. Stay weather-aware.
