Memphis, TN – Rain is expected to sweep through the Memphis area starting early Saturday, potentially impacting weekend travel and outdoor plans. Residents should prepare for slick roads and reduced visibility, particularly along major routes such as I-40 and I-55.

According to the National Weather Service in Memphis, the rain will begin late Friday night and continue through most of Saturday, with a 70% chance of precipitation. Showers are expected to intensify in the morning, bringing between a half and three-quarters of an inch of rainfall. Motorists should exercise caution and allow extra time for travel.

Saturday’s high temperature will reach 57°F, with southeast winds increasing to 15 mph. The rain may linger into Saturday night before tapering off early Sunday. By Sunday, scattered showers will persist, and temperatures will climb to 62°F, with wind gusts of up to 25 mph.

Looking ahead to early next week, Memphis will see another round of rain and possible thunderstorms on Monday, with a high near 65°F. A slight chance of storms continues into Monday night, with cooler temperatures dipping to 42°F.
