Memphis, TN – A Flood Watch has been issued for portions of eastern Arkansas, southeastern Missouri, and western Tennessee, beginning late Wednesday night and lasting through Thursday evening.

According to the National Weather Service in Memphis, heavy rainfall of 2 to 4 inches is expected across the region, with localized areas seeing even higher amounts. The excessive rainfall could lead to flooding of rivers, creeks, and low-lying areas, particularly in counties such as Craighead, Greene, and Mississippi in Arkansas; Dunklin and Pemiscot in Missouri; and Lake County in Tennessee.

Residents should be cautious of potential flooding in urban areas with poor drainage. Officials advise monitoring local forecasts for potential upgrades to Flood Warnings. Those in flood-prone locations should be prepared to take immediate action if conditions worsen.
