Memphis, TN – With Easter weekend just days away, Memphis remains under a flood warning and more rain is on the way.
According to the National Weather Service, a flood warning remains in effect for the Memphis area, following recent rounds of heavy rain. But the concern doesn’t end there — additional showers and thunderstorms are expected to begin Friday night and extend through the Easter weekend, raising the threat of renewed flooding and dangerous travel conditions.
Residents should remain alert, especially in flood-prone neighborhoods and near roads like I-240 and U.S. Highway 51, which often experience pooling and hazardous driving conditions during spring downpours. If you have Easter travel or outdoor plans, monitor forecasts closely and consider backup arrangements.
Weather will remain calm and dry through Thursday. Tuesday is expected to be sunny with a high of 67°F, followed by clear skies Tuesday night with lows around 46°F. Wednesday stays sunny, reaching 71°F, with partly cloudy skies returning Wednesday night. Thursday sees a high near 78°F and gusty winds, setting the stage for changing conditions.
By Friday night, a 30% chance of showers and storms returns, continuing into Saturday and Easter Sunday. Flash flooding risks could intensify if the region sees additional heavy rain on already saturated ground.
