Clarksville, TN – Flash flood warnings are in effect across parts of western and middle Tennessee, including Benton, Henry, Montgomery, and Stewart counties, as heavy rain from thunderstorms drenches the region Saturday morning.
According to the National Weather Service in Memphis, between 1 and 2 inches of rain have already fallen in northeastern Benton and Henry counties, including Paris and Buchanan, with another 1 to 2 inches expected by 9 a.m. CST. Public reports confirm flash flooding in low-lying areas, streets, and highways.
Meanwhile, the National Weather Service in Nashville reported that Montgomery, Robertson, and Stewart counties, including Clarksville and Dover, have seen 1.5 to 2 inches of rain. Additional rainfall of up to 3 inches is possible through 8:15 a.m. CST, with flash flooding expected to impact small streams, urban areas, and underpasses.
Residents are urged to avoid flooded roads and exercise caution, particularly during the pre-dawn hours when flooding hazards are less visible. Motorists are reminded that most flood-related fatalities occur in vehicles. Emergency services encourage reporting any flooding to local authorities when safe to do so.
