Nashville, Tennessee – Gusty winds and dry air are creating an immediate fire risk across Middle Tennessee today, with conditions capable of spreading flames quickly through the afternoon hours.

According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, cooler but breezy conditions will dominate Monday, with highs ranging from 58 to 64 degrees. Wind speeds increasing through the day, combined with low humidity, are elevating fire danger across the region, especially in areas with dry vegetation.

Communities across Davidson, Williamson, and Rutherford counties face the highest risk during peak afternoon hours, when winds are strongest and humidity levels drop further. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged, as even small sparks could lead to rapidly spreading grass fires.

Looking ahead, calmer conditions return Tuesday with partly cloudy skies and highs in the low to mid-60s. A warming trend continues through midweek, with temperatures reaching the low to mid-70s by Wednesday and upper 70s by Thursday.

Residents are urged to secure loose items, avoid open flames, and remain alert for any fire warnings issued through the day.

Fire danger will ease slightly after today, but dry conditions may continue to pose risks if winds return later this week.
