Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Valley looks to enjoy an extended fall this year, with warmer, quieter weather dominating most of November. But forecasters say a late-month cooldown could still bring a touch of winter just before Thanksgiving.

According to the NOAA Climate Prediction Center (CPC) outlook issued October 24, 2025, Tennessee, northern Alabama, and northern Mississippi are expected to see above-normal temperatures and below-average precipitation through mid-November. That means a low chance of early snow and mostly smooth travel conditions heading into the holiday season.

Still, meteorologists warn that late-November cold fronts could deliver a quick chill or even frost across higher elevations in eastern Tennessee and northern Alabama’s foothills. While true snow remains unlikely, Thanksgiving week could feel much more like winter than the start of the month.

For now, residents can expect clear skies and crisp mornings—but don’t pack away the coats just yet. A post-Thanksgiving cold snap could easily remind the region that winter isn’t far behind.
