Huntsville, AL – The Tennessee Valley will see a significant shift in weather starting midweek as a cold front sweeps through. After Tuesday’s rain and mild temperatures, cooler, drier air will settle across the region, bringing chilly nights and sunny skies.

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, showers and thunderstorms are likely Tuesday, with highs near 68°F and gusty south winds up to 20 mph. The cold front is expected to push through by Tuesday night, dropping temperatures dramatically. Lows will plummet to 36°F overnight, accompanied by gusts up to 25 mph.

By Wednesday, skies will clear, but highs will remain in the upper 40s. Expect a brisk morning with temperatures hovering around 23°F. Winds will ease slightly, though northwest gusts could reach 15 mph. Residents should dress warmly and take precautions for freezing morning commutes.

The cool trend will continue into Thursday and Friday, with highs ranging from 44°F to 56°F. Nighttime lows will vary between 27°F and 43°F, providing frosty conditions through the week. While Friday promises slightly warmer temperatures, the chance of light showers returns late Friday night into Saturday.

Drivers along major roadways like I-565 and US-72 should prepare for changing conditions and reduced visibility during early morning hours. As temperatures rise slightly by Sunday, highs will approach 58°F under partly sunny skies.

Plan for colder mornings, dress in layers, and stay updated on potential overnight frost advisories.
