Nashville, Tennessee – Flash flooding could develop quickly across the Tennessee Valley starting early Saturday as repeated rounds of heavy rain target already saturated ground.

According to the National Weather Service, a 60–80% chance of above-normal precipitation will impact Tennessee, northern Alabama, and southern Kentucky through midweek.

Nashville, Huntsville, and Bowling Green could see rainfall totals exceeding 2 to 4 inches, with the heaviest bursts reducing visibility below one mile and overwhelming drainage systems. Interstate 65 and I-24 may see water pooling during peak travel times.

Creeks and rivers across the region are likely to rise, especially in low-lying and flood-prone areas.

Residents should avoid driving through flooded roadways, monitor local alerts, and prepare for possible power outages during heavier downpours.

Rain continues through Wednesday, with additional flood advisories likely if totals increase.
