Huntsville, AL – Cold overnight temperatures and patchy freezing fog are expected across the Tennessee Valley tonight, with lows falling into the upper 20s to lower 30s, according to the National Weather Service in Huntsville.

Forecasters say a mostly rainy end to the week is ahead, with Thursday and Friday seeing a 20–40% chance of light rain showers. Daytime highs will reach the upper 40s to near 50 degrees, while overnight lows remain in the 30s through the weekend.

The National Weather Service urges residents to use caution when driving early Thursday morning, as freezing fog could create slick spots on bridges and overpasses. Conditions will gradually improve heading into the weekend, with highs warming slightly into the lower 50s by Saturday and Sunday under partly sunny skies.

Residents are encouraged to dress in layers, bring pets indoors, and check on elderly neighbors as cold mornings persist through the next few days.
