Tennessee Tornado Watch: Severe Storms Threaten Memphis and Nashville Until 3 AM

Memphis, TN – A tornado watch is in effect for parts of Tennessee, Arkansas, and Indiana until 3 a.m. CDT Saturday as severe storms move through the region.

According to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center, the tornado watch covers 21 counties in Tennessee, including Shelby, Madison, and Hardeman, as well as 35 counties in Arkansas and six in Indiana. Additional Arkansas counties under tornado watch include Pulaski, Faulkner, Conway, Lonoke, Pope, Prairie, and White, among others. The affected areas may experience damaging winds, large hail, and the possibility of isolated tornadoes.

Residents in the impacted counties should remain vigilant and have multiple ways to receive weather alerts overnight. The storms are expected to bring intense lightning and heavy rainfall, which could lead to flash flooding in some areas. Those in mobile homes or weak structures are urged to seek sturdier shelter ahead of any warnings.
