Memphis, Tenn. – Storms and scorching heat will clash across the Memphis area Saturday afternoon, with rain chances rising just as heat index values soar past 105°.

Southwesterly winds of 5 to 10 mph will do little to cool things down. Residents should limit outdoor activity during peak heat and stay hydrated.

⚠️ Drivers on I-240 and surrounding roads should be alert for sudden downpours and slick conditions during the afternoon hours.

By Saturday night, skies turn partly cloudy with a low near 75°. The storm threat increases again Sunday with a 50% chance of thunderstorms after 1 p.m. and highs near 92°. West winds at 5 to 10 mph may offer brief relief between storms.

  • Monday: Mostly sunny, 40% chance of storms after 1 p.m., high near 93°
  • Tuesday: Mostly sunny, 20% chance of storms, high near 95°
  • Wednesday: Slightly hotter at 97° with a 20% storm chance

Partly cloudy nights with lows in the mid-70s will offer minimal cooling.
