Nashville, TN – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for parts of Middle Tennessee through 6 p.m. CST Monday, as snow continues to fall across the Upper Cumberland region, according to the National Weather Service in Nashville.

The advisory covers Clay, Pickett, Jackson, Putnam, Overton, Fentress, White, Cumberland, and Van Buren Counties, including cities such as Cookeville, Crossville, and Jamestown. Forecasters expect up to one inch of snow, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces, though slick roads and bridges could create hazardous driving conditions this evening.

The Monday evening commute may be affected as temperatures drop near or below freezing, especially along the Cumberland Plateau. Residents are urged to use caution on untreated or secondary roads and allow extra travel time.

While accumulations are expected to remain light, forecasters warn that even minor snowfall can create icy patches—particularly on bridges, overpasses, and rural routes.

Drivers are encouraged to check Tennessee 511 for real-time road updates and avoid unnecessary travel until conditions improve later tonight.
