Knoxville, TN – A propane truck overturned and caught fire Tuesday on E. Emory Road in Knox County, prompting a one-mile evacuation.

Tennessee Highway Patrol responded alongside Rural Metro Fire and hazardous materials teams. First responders worked quickly to contain the fire and prevent further hazards. The Knox County Sheriff’s Office coordinated evacuations as a precaution.

Fire crews extinguished the flames, securing the area from additional risks. Investigators will now inspect the overturned truck and determine the cause. The motor carrier safety unit will also conduct a hazardous materials inspection to ensure compliance with transportation regulations.
