Nashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Level 2 out of 5 severe weather risk for parts of the Tennessee and Kentucky border region through Friday evening, November 7, as a cold front moves across the lower Ohio and Tennessee Valleys.
According to the National Weather Service, isolated large hail and damaging winds up to 60 mph are the main hazards expected in areas including Bowling Green, Clarksville, Nashville, and Paducah, with storms developing later this afternoon and evening.
Further south, the NWS Peachtree City office reports that the same cold front will continue into north and central Georgia overnight into early Saturday. The strongest storms are expected in western Georgia, particularly before sunrise Saturday. A few thunderstorms could become strong, producing gusty winds and brief heavy rain.
Forecasters note that while the overall severe weather threat remains limited, residents should stay weather-aware and have multiple ways to receive alerts tonight. Outdoor activities and late travel may be impacted by fast-moving storms and localized power outages.
The cold front is expected to clear the region by midday Saturday, bringing cooler and drier air into the weekend.
