A flood warning has been extended for the Buffalo River near Lobelville in Perry County, Tennessee, with minor flooding expected to last until late Tuesday evening. The National Weather Service issued the alert Friday afternoon, noting that the river’s stage was at 12.9 feet, and it is projected to rise to 16.5 feet by early Tuesday morning.

Residents along the river, including areas like Dailey Loop, Caruthers Trace Lane, and Lost Creek Road, are advised to remain vigilant. Flooding is affecting agricultural land and properties, particularly near Gilmer Bridge Road and Buffalo River Country Club. Some roads, such as Old State Highway 13 and Gilmer Bridge Road, are already impassable.

According to the NWS, the river is expected to fall below flood stage by Tuesday afternoon. However, areas near the waterfront, including Leeper Bottom and Cuba Landing Road, could experience additional impacts. The agency urges people to avoid flooded roads, as most flood-related deaths occur in vehicles.
