Memphis, TN – A flood advisory remains in effect for the Mississippi River at Memphis as rising water levels pose safety risks to nearby areas. The National Weather Service (NWS) warns that elevated river levels could impact local roads and low-lying communities through Sunday, March 2.
According to the NWS, the river is expected to crest at 28.7 feet on Tuesday, nearing the action stage of 28 feet. At 29 feet, the evacuation route from camps south of Hopefield Chute in Arkansas will be cut off, and water may reach levees near Sulcer Road west of South Lake. Residents should remain cautious when traveling near riverbanks and avoid flooded roads.

• Tuesday: Sunny with a high near 65°F. Light southwest winds at 5 mph.
• Tuesday Night: Mostly clear with a low around 47°F. Winds shifting calm.
• Wednesday: Mostly sunny with a high near 70°F. South winds at 5–10 mph.
• Wednesday Night: A 40% chance of showers, low near 46°F. Winds from the south at 5 mph.
• Thursday: Mostly sunny with a high near 59°F. Northwest winds at 5–10 mph.
