Memphis, TN – Tennessee is bracing for an intense heat wave this week, with temperatures expected to reach triple digits. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Memphis has issued heat advisories for Monday, with excessive heat warnings likely by Tuesday.
According to the NWS, the heat index, which measures how hot it feels when humidity is factored in, is projected to exceed 110 degrees in several areas, including Memphis, Jackson, and Little Rock. On Monday, temperatures will feel like 109 degrees in Memphis, 106 in Little Rock, and 110 in Clarksville.
The high temperatures and humidity are expected to persist throughout the week. Tuesday’s forecast predicts a heat index of 107 degrees in Memphis, 108 in Searcy, and 109 in Jonesboro. By Wednesday, the heat index could reach 113 degrees in Pocahontas, with Memphis experiencing a heat index of 110 degrees.
