MEMPHIS, TN – A reward for information in the shooting death of Ole Miss freshman football player Corey Adams has climbed to $21,000, CrimeStoppers of Memphis and Shelby County announced Monday.
According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, the increase comes after Adams’ family launched a GoFundMe campaign that generated $11,000 in donations. The contribution was added to the $10,000 already pledged by CrimeStoppers in connection with the case.
Adams, 18, a defensive end from New Orleans, was allegedly killed July 19 when gunfire broke out after a pool party in Cordova. Investigators said several others were also injured in the incident.
Deputies reported finding more than 40 rifle and pistol shell casings at a nearby residential scene. Authorities said multiple suspects may have been involved but no arrests have been made.
David Wayne Brown, executive director of CrimeStoppers, urged the public to come forward with tips that could help solve the case. “We’re sure that somebody knows something that could help,” Brown said. “We simply ask that people contact CrimeStoppers anonymously and provide details that could make them eligible for this extraordinary award.”
Officials said anyone with information can call CrimeStoppers at 528-CASH (2274). Callers remain anonymous.
