Huntsville, AL – Motorists in northern Alabama and southern Tennessee should prepare for hazardous travel conditions overnight and into Wednesday morningas freezing fog settles over the region. The National Weather Service has issued a Dense Freezing Fog Advisory through 6 a.m. Tuesday, warning of black ice and reduced visibility.

According to the NWS, temperatures near 24°F will allow fog droplets to freeze on roads, making travel hazardous along I-65 and other major routes. Drivers should reduce speed, leave extra space between vehicles, and watch for ice on bridges and overpasses.
