Tampa, Florida – Afternoon temperatures climbing into the mid-80s today will push even higher by Friday, with inland communities along Interstate 4 and Interstate 75 approaching 90 degrees under sunny skies.

According to the National Weather Service in Tampa Bay, warm and dry conditions will continue across west central and southwest Florida through the end of the week. Highs today will range from the mid-70s along the immediate coast to the mid-80s inland, with southeast to southwest winds between 5 and 10 mph. By Friday, interior areas such as Lakeland and parts of Polk and Hardee counties could reach the upper 80s to near 90 degrees.

Major roadways including I-275 through Tampa, I-4 from Tampa to Orlando and I-75 from Brooksville to Fort Myers will see full sunshine during peak afternoon heating. While no storms are expected, drivers should remain mindful of heat buildup inside vehicles, especially during extended stops in traffic.

Humidity levels will gradually increase late in the week, making afternoon conditions feel warmer. Outdoor workers and students participating in sports should stay hydrated and take breaks during peak heat between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

The warming trend is expected to continue into Friday before any noticeable pattern change arrives next week. Additional updates will follow if temperatures trend higher than currently forecast.
