Tampa, FL – One more warm and humid day with highs in the upper 80s will give way to a strong cold front moving south through the I-275 and I-75 corridors Sunday morning.

According to the US National Weather Service in Tampa Bay, today will remain partly cloudy and unseasonably warm, with afternoon temperatures reaching the mid to upper 80s across much of the region.

Scattered showers are expected to move into the Nature Coast late tonight, with a line of showers progressing south across the Tampa Bay area through the day Sunday. Winds will increase behind the front, turning breezy and ushering in significantly cooler air.

By Sunday night, temperatures will drop into the 30s across parts of the region, with wind chill values potentially dipping into the 30s as well. Monday will feel markedly colder, with sunny but breezy conditions and afternoon highs struggling to reach the 50s.

Motorists along I-4 in Lakeland, I-275 in Tampa, and I-75 through Sarasota should prepare for changing weather conditions Sunday, including brief reduced visibility in showers and gusty winds behind the front.

The sharp temperature change may impact early Monday commuters and students heading to school, especially after the stretch of unusually warm weather.

Residents are encouraged to monitor updated forecasts as the cold front approaches and secure loose outdoor items ahead of breezy conditions.
