Tampa, FL – A stolen vehicle suspect was tracked across jurisdictions Friday morning before being arrested outside a Walmart in Tampa, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

On September 18, 2025, at 8:50 a.m., HCSO’s Aviation Section responded to assist with a vehicle reported stolen from Dimarco Road. Deputies said the vehicle crossed into Tampa Police Department jurisdiction, prompting joint efforts between agencies.

According to investigators, aviation deputies tracked the stolen vehicle to a Walmart parking lot on West Hillsborough Avenue. Officers with the Tampa Police Department then located and arrested the suspect, identified as Ramon Santiago Rivera, 24.

Deputies said Rivera allegedly attempted to hide inside the Walmart before being taken into custody. He has been charged with Burglary of an Unoccupied Conveyance and Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle.

The sheriff’s office emphasized the importance of interagency cooperation in cases where suspects cross jurisdictional lines. “We remain committed to working alongside our law enforcement partners to remove criminals from our streets,” HCSO said in a statement.

Rivera is currently in custody while the case proceeds.
