Tampa, FL – A traffic stop in Hillsborough County Friday led to the arrest of an 11-time convicted felon and the seizure of several types of illegal drugs and cash, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).

According to HCSO, deputies and a K9 unit conducted an open-air sniff during the October 17, 2025, stop after detecting the odor of narcotics. The search reportedly uncovered multiple controlled substances and a large sum of cash.

Deputies said they found 155 grams of crack cocaine, 140.7 grams of powder cocaine, 22.7 grams of MDMA pills, 3.9 grams of oxycodone hydrochloride pills, and 6.75 pounds of cannabis, along with $13,067 in U.S. currency.

The driver, identified by authorities as Andre Brown, 38, was arrested and taken into custody. Brown allegedly faces multiple charges related to narcotics possession and distribution.

“Our deputies remain dedicated in the fight against illegal narcotics,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister in a statement. “Every drug we take off the streets means fewer overdoses, fewer broken families, and a safer Hillsborough County.”

This incident remains under investigation by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
