Tampa, FL – The National Weather Service in Tampa Bay is urging caution for boaters as hazardous marine conditions continue along the Florida Gulf Coast through early Sunday.
A Small Craft Advisory remains in effect for inshore, nearshore, and offshore waters north of Englewood, where winds of 20 to 25 knots with gusts up to 30 knots are expected. Seas could reach 5 to 8 feet offshore and 3 to 6 feet nearshore, creating choppy to rough conditions across bays and coastal waters.
The NWS warns that inexperienced boaters should stay off the water due to the heightened risk. Offshore buoys are reporting wave heights near 8 feet, with 4-foot waves nearshore. Conditions are expected to gradually improve by late Sunday as winds ease.
