Tampa Bay, Florida – Partly cloudy skies and summerlike heat will blanket the Tampa Bay region today, with high temperatures pushing into the low 90s across much of Central Florida.
According to the National Weather Service in Tampa Bay, Wednesday’s highs will range from the upper 80s inland to the lower 90s near the coast. East winds between 5 and 10 mph will shift onshore later this afternoon, adding a touch of humidity and keeping the heat index feeling even warmer.
Communities like Lakeland, Plant City, and Brooksville can expect peak heat between 2 and 5 p.m., while coastal areas including Clearwater and St. Petersburg will warm more gradually as the sea breeze develops. No rain is expected, but UV levels remain high, so sun protection is advised if spending time outdoors.
Drivers should stay hydrated and avoid leaving pets or children in parked vehicles, as interior temperatures can rise dangerously fast. Those working outdoors should take frequent breaks and wear light clothing.
Warm conditions will continue into the evening, with mild overnight lows in the 70s. A similar pattern is expected Thursday, and additional updates will be issued if any heat advisories or air quality alerts are triggered.
