Tallahassee, FL – A noticeable shift in weather is on the way this week as cooler fall-like temperatures settle across North Florida and South Georgia by midweek. The National Weather Service in Tallahassee reports that a cold front will move through the region Wednesday, September 30, bringing breezy northeast winds and more comfortable daytime highs.
According to the forecast, temperatures will gradually dip starting Wednesday, with highs in Tallahassee dropping from the mid-80s early in the week to around 80 degrees by Thursday and Friday. Surrounding cities, including Albany, Valdosta, and Bainbridge, are expected to follow a similar cooling trend. Breezy conditions will add to the fall feel, especially during the evening hours.
Rain chances remain minimal through the work week, with most areas seeing only a 0–10% chance of precipitation through Thursday. However, as the front shifts back toward the coast over the weekend, showers become more likely. By Saturday, locations such as Apalachicola, Cross City, and Panama City could see rain chances rise to 35–45%.
The cooler stretch offers some relief from the humid summer pattern, with Tallahassee’s weekend highs forecast in the low-to-mid 80s and overnight lows dipping into the 60s.
Residents are encouraged to plan for pleasant outdoor conditions through Friday but keep an eye on updated forecasts heading into the weekend as rain returns.
