Tallahassee, FL – Dense fog may create hazardous travel conditions early Sunday morning across the Florida Big Bend, Eastern Panhandle, Southwest Georgia, and Southeast Alabama, according to the National Weather Service Tallahassee office.

According to forecasters, a medium chance exists for fog to reduce visibility below one mile, and in some areas—particularly south of I-10, the Suwannee River Valley, and the Flint River Valley—visibility may fall below a quarter mile. The highest fog risk spans portions of the Tallahassee metro, Live Oak, Lake City, Bainbridge, Dothan, and surrounding communities in the tri-state region.

Fog development is expected overnight into early Sunday as light winds and lingering moisture allow low clouds to settle near the surface. Morning commuters could encounter sudden visibility drops, especially along major corridors including I-10, US-27, US-90, and I-75 near the Florida-Georgia line.

The NWS advises drivers to reduce speed, increase following distance, and use low-beam headlights when encountering fog. Rapid changes in visibility are likely, and travel may be slow in the hardest-hit pockets around sunrise.

Conditions should gradually improve by mid-to-late morning as the fog lifts and visibility returns to normal.
