Tallahassee, FL – Strong thunderstorms and gusty winds will impact northern Florida Sunday night into Monday, bringing potential travel disruptions and power outages.
According to the National Weather Service, a Tornado Watch is in effect for multiple counties, including Leon, Jefferson, and Gadsden, until 10 a.m. Monday. Additionally, a Wind Advisory warns of gusts exceeding 40 mph, affecting portions of the Florida Panhandle and southern Georgia.
Heavy rain and thunderstorms will continue through early Monday morning, with an 80% chance of precipitation. Winds from the southwest at 20–25 mph could bring down trees and power lines, creating hazardous conditions. Those traveling on Interstate 10 and U.S. Highway 27 should drive cautiously and expect delays.
By Monday afternoon, the storms will clear, leaving behind cooler temperatures with a high near 66°F. Winds will shift from the northwest, gusting up to 25 mph.
Looking ahead, spring officially begins Thursday, and Tallahassee will see gradual warming and sunny skies midweek. Tuesday’s high will reach 76°F, followed by upper 70s through Friday, with a slight chance of showers Wednesday night.
