Tallahassee, FL – The National Weather Service in Tallahassee is monitoring a line of storms moving through the region today, bringing the potential for isolated strong thunderstorms across parts of the eastern Florida Panhandle and Big Bend.

Forecasters say storms will persist through late this afternoon, with the highest thunderstorm chances (50% or greater) in areas highlighted in orange on the forecast map.

Potential hazards include:

  • Wind gusts up to 40–50 mph
  • A brief tornado cannot be ruled out

Residents are urged to stay weather-aware, especially during the afternoon hours, and to head indoors when thunder roars.

While the overall severe threat remains limited, any stronger storms that form could briefly produce dangerous wind gusts or localized damage.
