Tallahassee, FL – The US National Weather Service Tallahassee reports that September 2025 ranked among the driest months on record for much of the Florida Panhandle, southwest Georgia, and southeast Alabama, with rainfall totals far below normal and drought conditions deepening across the region.

According to the Weather Service, Tallahassee received just 0.54 inches of rain for the month—its fourth driest September ever recorded—while Marianna logged only 0.65 inches, more than 3 inches below normal. Cities like Valdosta, Albany, and Apalachicola also saw near-record dryness.

The ongoing stretch of warm, rain-free weather has continued into mid-October, with little to no precipitation expected through the workweek. However, some optimism exists for scattered showers by Sunday, October 19, and Monday, October 20, when rain chances rise slightly to around 25–35%.

Until then, residents are urged to conserve water and take fire safety precautions, as vegetation remains dry and soil moisture levels are critically low.
