Tallahassee, Florida – Patchy fog is expected to return to the Tallahassee area late tonight into Tuesday morning, with the most significant impacts developing from Wednesday night through Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters report a medium chance (40–60%) of fog across the region during the early morning hours of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, with some areas experiencing dense fog that could sharply reduce visibility for commuters and holiday travelers. Fog may become more widespread overnight Wednesday and persist into Thursday and Friday mornings.

The most affected period is expected to be Christmas morning, when fog coverage and density are most likely to peak. Drivers are urged to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and increase following distance when encountering fog.

Despite the fog risk, temperatures will remain unseasonably warm. Highs this week are forecast in the mid to upper 70s, while overnight lows will range from the upper 40s to mid 50s, conditions favorable for repeated fog formation.

Officials recommend planning alternate travel times when possible and monitoring local conditions closely, especially during the overnight and early morning hours through the end of the week.
