Georgetown, DE – Delaware State Police arrested a 61-year-old Georgetown man after discovering pipe bombs, hoax explosive devices, guns, and drugs during a domestic-related investigation earlier this month.

According to Delaware State Police, troopers responded to a residence on the 17000 block of McColley’s Chapel Road around 1 p.m. on November 10, 2025, for a domestic assault call. Investigators said the suspect allegedly fought with a family member while armed with a handgun and fled before troopers arrived.

The following day, on November 11, troopers located and arrested the man without incident. During a safety check of the property, police said they discovered what appeared to be homemade pipe bombs, prompting the Delaware State Police Explosives Ordnance Disposal Unit to respond and render the devices safe. A search warrant was later executed at the property.

Detectives recovered four pipe bombs, five hoax devices, multiple rifles and handguns, ammunition, 27 marijuana plants, and approximately nine grams of methamphetamine, police said.

The man faces numerous felony charges, including possession of a destructive weapon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $280,000 cash and secured bond.
