Flagstaff, Ariz. – Northern Arizona will see sunny skies and gusty winds to start the week, followed by a return to rain and snow chances by midweek, according to the National Weather Service in Flagstaff.

Forecasters say Sunday and Monday will remain dry but breezy, with northwest winds gusting at times, creating cool daytime conditions across the high country. High temperatures Sunday are expected to reach around 41 degrees in Flagstaff, with warmer readings in lower elevations such as Prescott, Payson, and Camp Verde.

Winds will stay elevated through Monday, though conditions remain mostly sunny. Highs on Monday will be similar to Sunday, topping out in the low to mid-40s for Flagstaff and upper 40s to low 60s elsewhere across northern Arizona.

Temperatures will gradually warm Tuesday, with Flagstaff expected to reach the mid-40s, while lower elevations climb into the 50s and low 60s.

By Wednesday night, a change in the pattern is expected as clouds increase and rain and snow chances return, reminding residents that winter is not finished. Additional chances for precipitation may linger into Thursday, including New Year’s Day.

Residents are encouraged to prepare for windy conditions early in the week and monitor updates for potential winter weather impacts midweek, especially at higher elevations where snow is more likely.
