Sumter, SC – A Sumter County man was arrested earlier this month after deputies allegedly found methamphetamine inside his vehicle during a traffic stop, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said they located a vehicle with a stolen license plate on Kolb Road during the afternoon of January 7. The driver, identified as 42-year-old Joseph Charles Pack of Sumter, was stopped by deputies and allegedly admitted to having narcotics in the vehicle.

According to authorities, deputies located methamphetamine inside the vehicle and arrested Pack for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

The Sheriff’s Office added that Pack was also cited for driving with a suspended license, operating a vehicle with a stolen license plate, and driving an uninsured vehicle.

Deputies transported Pack to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center, where he remains held on a surety bond as of January 15.
