Sumner County, TN – A tense standoff in Hendersonville ended safely after deputies arrested a wanted fugitive late Thursday, according to the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies located Christopher Carson at a residence in Hendersonville, where authorities say he barricaded himself inside for several hours before being taken into custody without incident.

According to Sheriff Eric Craddock, Carson was wanted out of Georgia for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and also had multiple warrants out of Dickson County for sex offender registration violations, residential violations, and violation of an order of protection.

Sheriff Craddock praised the deputies for their “professionalism and restraint” in safely resolving the incident. He also thanked the Hendersonville Police Department for its assistance, calling the arrest “an example of strong interagency teamwork.”

Authorities have not released details about potential extradition proceedings to Georgia.
