Kane County, IL – A serious vehicular accident in Sugar Grove Township left two individuals hospitalized early Wednesday morning.
According to the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the scene of a single-vehicle crash around 8:00 AM on April 4th, 2024, near the 42W300 block of Ke De Ka Rd. A gray 2014 Honda Civic, carrying a 19-year-old driver from Batavia, IL, and a 20-year-old female passenger from Geneva, IL, veered off the road and collided with a utility pole.
The investigation revealed that while traveling westbound, the Civic’s passenger side tires left the pavement at a curve, leading the driver to lose control after attempting to correct its course. The passenger was critically injured, sustaining multiple traumatic injuries, and was initially taken to Mercy Hospital in Aurora before being transferred to Good Samaritan Hospital for further treatment. The driver sustained minor injuries and was also taken to Mercy Hospital.
Kane County Sheriff’s Detectives are continuing their investigation into the crash, and updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
