Knoxville & Memphis, TN – The National Weather Service has issued Wind Advisories spanning both East and West Tennessee, warning of gusty and potentially damaging winds continuing into Tuesday.

In East Tennessee, including the Smoky Mountains and nearby foothills, the Wind Advisory remains in effect until 4 p.m. EST Tuesday.
South winds of 15 to 25 mph, with gusts between 45 and 55 mph, are expected — particularly above 3,000 feet in elevation and in mountain wave-prone areas such as Camp Creek, Cove Mountain, and Clingmans Dome.

Meanwhile, the Memphis and Mid-South region — including West Tennessee, North Mississippi, Southeast Missouri, and East Arkansas — remains under a Wind Advisory until 8 a.m. CST Tuesday.
Here, southerly winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph may cause downed limbs, blown debris, and isolated power outages overnight.

The NWS urges residents and travelers to secure outdoor objects, avoid parking under trees, and use caution while driving, especially for high-profile vehicles on open roads and bridges.

Though winds will gradually subside Tuesday evening, lingering gusts and cooler air will follow as the region transitions toward a colder midweek weather pattern.
