Mobile, AL – A Wind Advisory remains in effect for portions of south-central and southwest Alabama, northwest Florida, and southeast Mississippi until midnight CDT tonight, according to the National Weather Service.

Strong south winds of 15 to 25 mph, with gusts reaching up to 45 mph, are expected across the region. The advisory covers multiple counties, including Mobile, Baldwin, Escambia, and Covington in Alabama; Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa in Florida; and Wayne, Perry, and Greene in Mississippi.

These strong winds may cause unsecured objects to be blown around, potentially leading to fallen tree limbs and isolated power outages. Drivers, particularly those operating high-profile vehicles, are advised to use extra caution on the roads.

The advisory will remain in effect from 10 a.m. this morning through midnight. Residents are encouraged to secure outdoor furniture, trash bins, and any loose objects to prevent wind-related damage. Power companies are urging residents to prepare for possible outages by keeping flashlights and mobile devices charged.

The National Weather Service advises staying updated with local weather reports and heeding any additional alerts. Those in affected areas should exercise caution while traveling and be prepared for sudden wind gusts.
