Dodge City, Kan. – Strong to severe storms are expected to push out of eastern Colorado and into western Kansas from midafternoon through early Monday morning, bringing the potential for damaging hail and high winds. The National Weather Service in Dodge City reports storms are moving east at 20 to 25 mph and could intensify as they enter Kansas after 1:30 a.m.

According to the NWS, hail ranging from quarter to ping-pong ball size could impact areas from Tribune to Garden City, with gusty winds reaching up to 60 mph. Such winds may break small tree branches, damage siding, and scatter light outdoor objects.

Travelers along U.S. Highways 50 and 83 should remain alert for rapidly changing road conditions, while residents are urged to secure outdoor items and shelter vehicles to prevent hail damage. Power outages are possible in stronger storm cells.

The threat will continue until early morning as the system moves eastward across western Kansas. More advisories may be issued if conditions worsen overnight.
