San Antonio, TX – A strong line of thunderstorms is forecast to sweep across South-Central Texas late Friday night into Saturday morning (October 24–25, 2025), according to the National Weather Service in Austin–San Antonio.

The system is expected to bring heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and isolated severe storms, with the potential for large hail and a brief, isolated tornado. A Flood Watch remains in effect until 1 p.m. CDT Saturday for much of the I-35 corridor, including Austin, San Antonio, New Braunfels, and the Hill Country.

Forecasters warn that localized flash flooding may develop in low-lying or urban areas, especially where storms repeatedly track over the same locations. Wind gusts up to 60 mph and hail up to one inch in diameter are possible in stronger cells.

“Have multiple ways to receive weather warnings through the night,” the NWS advised. Residents are encouraged to avoid travel during heavy downpours, secure outdoor items, and move vehicles away from flood-prone areas.

Rain and thunderstorms are expected to taper off by Saturday afternoon, though additional scattered storms may redevelop later in the day.
