Tulsa, OK – Fall weather across Oklahoma is turning blustery this week as a strong cold front moves in Tuesday, bringing gusty north winds and a sharp temperature drop.
According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, winds will shift northwesterly Tuesday with sustained speeds of 20 to 30 mph and gusts reaching up to 45 mph through Wednesday. Forecasters warn that driving could be difficult for high-profile vehicles, and small tree limbs may fall due to the strong gusts.
The cold front is also expected to bring a high chance of rain across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas, mainly from Monday night through Tuesday evening. The system will usher in much cooler air, with daytime highs in the 50s to low 60s and nighttime lows dipping into the 30s by midweek.
Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor items and use caution while driving during peak wind periods. Conditions should improve heading into next weekend, with drier and calmer weather expected by Friday and Saturday.
