Streator, IL – Police responded to a shooting early Friday morning near the intersection of Bridge and Colorado Streets in Streator, Illinois. At approximately 3:20 a.m., officers arrived at the scene after reports of multiple gunshots. They discovered numerous shell casings and evidence indicating that gunfire had occurred.
A 34-year-old male victim, who had sustained a gunshot wound, was later reported at OSF Streator. He was transferred to OSF Peoria for further treatment. Medical staff confirmed that his injuries are not life-threatening.
According to the Streator Police Department, an unknown individual or individuals fired the shots during a party at a nearby residence. Several people fled the area following the gunfire.
The Streator Police Department, with assistance from LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office, Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit, is actively investigating. Authorities are urging anyone with information, including those with home surveillance footage, to come forward to aid the investigation.
