Fort Wayne, IN – This weekend’s mild and cloudy weather will give way to a sharp temperature drop and rain by midweek. Sunday’s highs could reach 60 degrees, but strong winds and wet conditions are expected to dominate the region starting Tuesday.
According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, scattered showers may develop late Monday night, with steady rainfall likely Tuesday morning. Daytime highs will plummet from 65 on Tuesday to just 41 by Thursday, as gusty winds bring colder air. Motorists traveling along US 30 or I-69 should plan for wet and slippery roads midweek.
Sunday will remain calm, with mostly cloudy skies and light winds. Overnight temperatures will dip into the 40s, leading to a chance of rain late Sunday night. Monday may start partly sunny but will transition to showers after 1 p.m., with a low of 52 degrees expected by nightfall.
As midweek approaches, a strong cold front will push into the area. Tuesday will see highs near 65 with early morning rain before colder air sets in. By Wednesday, a 50% chance of rain lingers with highs struggling to reach 52 degrees.
Residents should prepare for significant weather changes, particularly as temperatures drop to freezing by Thursday night. Plan to bundle up and take extra precautions on wet roadways during commutes.
