Steuben County, Indiana – A traffic stop for an equipment violation led to two felony drug arrests early Saturday in Steuben County.
According to Indiana State Police, a probationary trooper conducted the stop shortly after midnight Saturday on State Road 120 and County Road 50 West while on solo patrol. During the encounter, the trooper reportedly observed indicators of criminal activity, and evidence of suspected methamphetamine was discovered inside the vehicle.
Police said additional units responded to assist. A subsequent search allegedly uncovered more than 73 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
Lydia Tuckerman, 25, of Bradenton, Florida, was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 3 felony, and Dealing Methamphetamine, a Level 2 felony, according to state police.
Tyler Brown, 39, of Muncie, Indiana, was arrested on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 3 felony; Dealing Methamphetamine, a Level 2 felony; and Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor.
Both were transported to the Steuben County Jail and incarcerated on their respective charges. Court records were not immediately available.
Indiana State Police stated the arrest followed proactive patrol activity targeting equipment violations and suspicious behavior. All charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
The seizure removes a significant quantity of suspected methamphetamine from circulation, impacting local drug enforcement efforts.
