Freeport, IL – Two Freeport residents were taken into custody after officers allegedly discovered cocaine, cannabis, and multiple firearms during a police search on Monday, October 21, 2025.
According to the Freeport Police Department, the agency’s Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant around noon in the 300 block of North West Avenue. Inside, officers encountered 21-year-old Aveon Curry and 39-year-old Heather Curry.
Police reported finding approximately 110 grams of suspected cocaine, 240 grams of suspected cannabis, four semi-automatic pistols, and one Draco AK47 pistol at the residence.
Following the search, Aveon Curry was charged with multiple felonies, including possession with intent to deliver more than 100 grams of a controlled substance, armed violence, possession with intent to deliver cannabis, and possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card. Heather Curry was charged with felony possession of a firearm without a valid (revoked) FOID card, according to the department.
Both suspects were transported to the Stephenson County Jail, where they remain pending a detention hearing. Police emphasized that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
