Milwaukee, WI – Milwaukee residents should prepare for a significant heat wave beginning Sunday and lasting into early next week. The National Weather Service (NWS) Milwaukee/Sullivan warns that well above-normal temperatures will arrive Sunday afternoon, pushing heat index values into the upper 90s.

According to the NWS, scattered showers and storms are possible from Saturday night into Sunday morning. Residents are advised to drink plenty of water, wear light-colored and loose-fitting clothing, and take frequent breaks in the shade if spending time outdoors. This heat wave is projected to continue through the first half of the week.
